John Ayo
It's difficult to stand out as a contemporary artist. For John Ayo - songwriter and composer with a powerful baritone voice - standing out defined his upbringing. Raised in Nigeria, The United States, and Europe, his gift for music came early as a classical violinist and trombonist. At 13 years old, he heard Fleetwood Mac's The Dance and began to incorporate singer-songwriter sensibilities into his classical training.
With his multicultural background, he creates in over seven languages. His lyrics are both contemplative and sensitive, and his music is a reflection of an old soul living in the modern age.
With the release of his debut, After Midnight - EP, John Ayo showcased his powerful, raw soul vocals over a set of original, Americana-inspired compositions written over several years on the open road. Inspired by a lifetime of musical experimentation, his upcoming releases defy genre and vocal style, and will feature everything from progressive soul to Lo-fi indie sounds. There are many ways to break away from the ordinary, and John Ayo breaks away in every direction.
